When trying to brainstorm a visual identity for RW in early 2019, which would be the focus of future marketing campaigns, we worked with the idea of a “zen” feel with our watches. The polar comparison of elements from nature and the structured architectural look of a swiss-made watches. We did decide to go in a different direction with the brand messaging; however, I really enjoyed making some of these images and the idea of jewelry lost in nature.
I have recently seen this concept used in many luxury, jewelry, and watch companies imagery combing gold bracelets sitting on top of a golden nugget or an all black matte watch in black sand. The idea of putting these prized possessions in different environments gave the feel of “this comes with me everywhere”. Which if you have a favorite ring or bracelet it tend to become apart of you.
